The Hessling Funeral Home was established in 1895 by Nicholas Hessling near the location where the Funeral Home is today. The business began as a monument company and later the funeral home was developed. We continue the tradition today trying to cover all aspects pertaining to funeral service.
Joseph W. Hessling, son of Nicholas and Robert N. and Joseph (Jo Jo) Hessling, sons of Joseph followed their fathers footsteps in the family business. Today the 4th generation of the family business continues with Richard D. Hessling, son of Robert. Today, Brendan Murray grew up in the Honesdale area and is a Funeral Director with Richard.
We have been honored and privileged to serve Honesdale and the surrounding communities for well over a century and will continue to provide families with a personal and meaningful funeral.
